Excessive Moisture Causes MAJOR Issues in Hopkinsville, KY

This 1970's Hopkinsville home was having some MAJOR excessive moisture issues in the crawl space! The thing is.. those issues spread to upstairs, too! The standing water on their (useless) tarp was actually evaporating into their wood beams. This led to mold growth and caused the wood to decay and weaken. They soon realized that their floors were uneven and “bouncy”. They were worried about the health of their home, and were also very concerned with breathing in mold spores and the dangers that came with that. And they had a right to be worried! Mold is one of the most common indoor allergens and can easily be the reason why your loved one is sneezing or has itchy eyes.

Our trained inspector, Nick, met them at their home and inspected their home. He took a few moisture tests and reference photos to show the homeowners. Nick sat down with them and discussed long-lasting solutions to their problems. He answered all of their questions and told them all about our encapsulation process and SmartJacks system. They were ready to get the project started, so they finally didn't have to worry!

Our encapsulation process has two important products- the Drainage Matting and the CleanSpace Liner. The matting has raised dimples to help trapped water find its way to the designated drain/pump. The CleanSpace Liner is 20mil thick and has seven layers of polyethylene composition and polyester-cord reinforcement. To make sure the collected water was pumped safely away from their home, we installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump. This pump has not one, but three different pumps that automatically change based on your space's needs. To assist the mold problem, our crew installed the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This powerful dehumidifier will keep the relative humidity below 55% This is a must for this home, because mold thrives in environments over 60%!
Next, we installed a product to lift the floors back to their original position! Our SmartJacks, high-capacity, fully-adjustable steel piers, were perfect to ensure uneven floors would no longer be an issue!
