Winter is Coming; Time to Check That Roof
Winter is coming sooner than you think. It's time to look around your home and make sure it stays warm and dry during those cold months ahead. Let's start at the top!
Sometimes winter comes with high winds and a lot of snow, depending on where you live. If you're in the South, you may be looking at more ice than snow, but both can still carry a lot of weight on your roof. Now might be a good time to hire a contractor to get on your roof and look around. Make sure there are no missing shingles. Check the gutters for debris. Make sure the ventilation systems that are in place are in good working order.
You're also checking on the energy efficiency of your home. Improper ventilation or missing shingles could mean loss of warm air or mold growth. All of these things are important for the health of your home from October through March.
