Water in the crawl space of this 37 year old home had the upstairs smelling musty, damp, and moldy. Knowing the crawl space leaks but never going down in to the crawl space it was more out of sight - out of mind. With draft floors and winter coming it is time to find the permanent solution to these concerns.

Inadequate insulation

The insulation of this crawl space is handing down, dirty, and wet. It is no longer in any condition to provide insulation to the living space above.

Efflorescence on the block

The efflorescence shows the moisture in the block. As moisture came through the pores of the block these mineral deposits were left behind.

Debris

Quite a bit of debris litter this crawl space. Not a friendly space for the homeowner or other contractors who might be working down here.

Roof top

A fabricated topper with roof shingles is used to close the access well. However it is not air tight or water proof. The topper is also subject to rust and rot.

Sump pump to keep you dry

A sump pump in the basement will manage any water under the liner as well as any draining from the dehumidifier and pump it out of the crawl space. This crawl space is now safe from humidity, ground water seepage, and heavy rain flooding.

Dehumidifier

The home owner can breaths easy. Although small in size this unit is able to take care of this entire space. Humidity stays down, mold is no longer able to grow and the air quality greatly improves.
