Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Huntsville, AL
Homeowners in Huntsville, AL, contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair to have their crawl space evaluated. Our technician arrived and got to work inspecting the home's crawl space. Once inside, they discovered standing water, sagging and fallen insulation, and mold growth. Evidence of water on the concrete walls of the crawl space could also be seen. We recommended a complete encapsulation of the crawl space. All debris, including the old vapor barrier, would be completely removed. Across the dirt floor, we would roll out our drainage matting. On top of the matting, we would apply our CleanSpace vapor barrier. We would use a thinner version of our CleanSpace barrier on the walls. For the standing water, we would install our TripleSafe sump pump system to ensure the space does not flood anymore. Our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier would also be installed in the crawl space to combat humidity and prevent mold growth.

Debris

Sagging Insulation
Fiberglass insulation soaks up moisture like a sponge, causing it to sag and fall.
Mold Growth
Mold growth was evident throughout the space.
Muddy Barrier
Thick mud was found on top of the old vapor barrier.
Standing Water
Puddles of water were also found throughout the crawl space.
Water Stains
Evidence that water was seeping through the concrete walls of the crawl space could be seen upon inspection.
