When the soil supporting a concrete slab, walkway, sidewalk or driveway; erodes, shrinks or is washed away by rain, the slab begins to sink into the gaps and sometimes even crack creating uneven walking surfaces, and a number of trip and fall hazards.
Formerly, these sinking concrete slabs were raised by a process called mudjacking. A mix of mud and cement was injected through holes drilled in the slab. This process, while effective, had some drawbacks. It was very messy, and a long waiting period was required for the cement mixture to cure, in which the slab had to remain interdicted to traffic.
In addition, the cementitious compound was very heavy, and would often sink into the ground after a while, along with the slab it was supposed to support.
The revolutionary PolyLevel System. a far superior alternative to mudjacking, is now being offered with exclusivity by Frontier Basement Systems in Central TN and Southwestern KY. PolyLevel is an environmentally-friendly structural grade polymer, used to raise concrete slabs, patios, sidewalks, walkways and driveways back to their original level. An advantage of using PolyLevel instead of mudjacking includes a cleaner and less disruptive application. The compound can be injected under the slab through smaller drilled holes.
PolyLevel expands during application, filling every gap in the soil under the slab and it is lightweight, so it won't add a lot of extra weight to the supporting soil. Perhaps the best feature of this product is the fast curing time. PolyLevel cures in minutes, and the slab can be walked on and used normally only a few minutes after the application!
