This sweet little home in Springfield Tennessee had serious leaks in the crawl space, the homeowner referred to it as a pond. Considering selling the home, worried about musty, damp, and moldy smells upstairs he needed a permanent solution.

DIY pump

A DIY sump pump had been installed in efforts to help the flooding crawl space and get the standing water out.

Mold on the joist

The conditions of this crawl space are ideal for mold growth on the floor joist. Mold will eat the organic material and weaken the structure creating wood rot and sagging floors.

Insulated blocks

Insulation and plastic ran the wall of the crawlspace in attempt to keep water out and insulate under the home. Unfortunately, this insulation is not designed for this and the plastic used was not able to keep the water out so the insulation was soaking up water as well. Wet insulation is very heavy and gravity will pull it from the wall.

Drainage Matting

A special dimpled DeltaDrainage Matting is installed before the liner allowing for ground water to travel below without creating pools or pockets of water under the liner.

Columns are wrapped

Even support columns are wrapped with the plastic vapor barrier liner.

Sump Pump for water management

A new TripleSafe Sump Pump is installed to collect and pump water out of the crawl space. A battery back up provides security for any power outages during storms.

Clean Crawl Space

Floor lined with 20Mil thick vapor barrier, support beam, and SmartJacks in place this looks like a whole new crawl space.
