Old doors
These doors do little to protect this space. They are not insulated or sealed.
Stained Block
Years of moisture and neglect have stained the block wall leaving evidence of moisture issues.
No protection from outside elements
There is no protection to the duct work or floor joist, compromising the structure, energy efficiency, and air quality above.
From the outside
The garage doors and old covered window allow for outside temperatures in the basement making the living space above uncomfortable.
WaterGuard interior perimeter basement waterproofing system
A trench is dug out for the WaterGuard to sit a top the footing. The WaterGuard will collect water from the basement walls and deliver it to the sump pump for removal.
IceGuard
IceGuard prevents wintertime freeze-up of discharge lines.
Discharge Lines
PVC pipe discharge lines are buried to carry the water away from the homes foundation.
LawnScape Well
The discharge line empties away from the home from this LawnScape well. The well lid is flat and does not disrupt daily activities.
Sump liner
A sump pump liner is placed below floor level. The pumps will sit inside on stands to protect from any debris that may get in the tank. An air tight lid closes the liner off and provides a flush fit to the floor.
Dehumidifier
The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier will monitor and control humidity in the air protecting the home from mold and mildew. The unit is slightly elevated and will drain right into the discharge lines.
Covering the garage opening
The home owner opted to take the doors out and cover the hole permanently.
Window blocked
The window space was also filled with blocks and covered.
Garage entry covered.
The old doors gone, area filled, interior perimeter waterproofed. The rooms above will feel a huge difference in comfort, both temperature and air quality.
