Water damage
The years of water saturation has compromised the joint of the wall and basement floor.
Foundation cracks
Foundation cracks also cause water leaks in the foundation. The chimney of this home was pulling on the foundation.
Push Piers
Push piers are steel piers pushed hydraulically down to bedrock or load bearing stratum.
Piers support the chimney
Low profile brackets are secured against and below the existing footing supporting the weight from below.
Before
A utility basement that offers tons of space and unclaimed value.
After
Interior drainage system installed, BrightWall Paneling system up. The space has proper water management, more attractive, and brighter.
Sump Pump and Dehumidifier.
The sump pump liner houses 2 sump pumps and an Ultra Sump, a Water Watch alarm is installed on top of the liner, a back up battery sits just behind the pump. Many storms that have caused flooding have also been responsible for knocking out the power. The SaniDry Sedona is a small and mighty dehumidifier that will pull moisture from the air and control the relative humidity of the home. Controlling humidity levels helps with mold and dust mites.
Bright and Clean
Blocks covered, water managed, humidity controlled; the basement is much brighter and no longer has the notorious mold and mildew smell.
Drain cup floor drain
This basement had 3 drain cups in the floor. One was used for the heating and cooling unit to drain into. However with excessive rain or flooding, floor drains have been known to provide water access in to the basement as well.
Dark and Moldy
Even with the block wall painted the home did not have a a real water management system and the three factors necessary for mold and mildew growth were present.
