We were called out to this home do to a sinking foundation when Our design Specialist got there the decision was made that Push Piers would be the best to solve this issue for the homeowner. So of course, our crew got straight to work, when installing Push Piers the first step is to dig down to the bottom of the footing. Then brackets are attached, and piers are driven down to solid bedrock. Once that is done then the stabilizing process begins, along with an attempt to lift the home to close any cracks that have developed.
What the homeowner was not expecting was the mass amount of water that surrounded her home, She was already dealing with some water getting in the basement, mostly when it rained a lot, but sometimes it would appear even if it hadn’t rain in a few days. our crew explained to her that there was a lot of water in the ground and more then likely the water was just seeping in through the basement walls. That this was a common problem with having so much water in the ground. And explained to her that a full perimeter water guard system would solve that problem, it’s a waterproofing system for the inside of the basement, it catches the water as it comes in and sends it back out. The water drain system that is here is not going to do much if anything to help keep the water out, it has been crushed from the weight of the mud, has holes in it from the rocks, and is so full of mud the water cant flow throw it. But our guys installed her Push Piers, lifted her home, and she promised to see us very soon when we come out and install her new Water Guard, waterproofing system.
Flooded Push piers
The more water they pumped out the more water would seep back in.
