This sweet little home in Humboldt Tennessee is over 117 years old and needed some support. Over time the weight of the home combined with humidity had created a sag in the floors. The uneven floors continue to get worse and the home owner needed a solution. The family had no plans of relocating and were very serious about finding a permanent solution for their home.

Century Old Home

This beautiful family home looks great on the outside but needed some support underneath.

Shallow Crawl Space

Part of the home sat on a shallow crawl space.

Room for Utilities

Over time underneath had been dug out to house utilities for the home above.

Block Supports

At some point blocks had been placed to help support the floor above.

Fountain Pond

A fountain pond up next to the home's foundation is not helping the foundation concerns. The dirt basement is holding a significant amount of water against the foundation.

Beams and Jacks

Supplemental steel beam is placed to evenly distribute the weight of the home.

Short Space

Older homes were not build with much of a crawl space, this beam shows just how short this side of the home is.

Crawl Space Jacks

A Centruy of Changes

Lots of changes happen in 100 years. Heating and air lines have been added. Plumbing's been added. A Hot water heater has been added. Under the home was dug out to add new features over time. These changes have affected the weight load and balance of the home and its foundation.
