Deep Cracks
Cracks ran across the slab, likely caused by shifting or eroded soil beneath. Poorly compacted or overly wet or dry soil can weaken the foundation of a concrete pad. These deep cracks detract from the appearance and open pathways for water to seep underneath, further destabilizing the slab.
Widespread Damage
The damage extended throughout the concrete, stopping only at the control joints. While these joints are designed to manage cracking, they can also be entry points for water. Unsealed control joints and cracks leave the slab vulnerable to further damage, making sealing a critical step in the repair process.
