Conditioned Crawl Space in Clarksville
Challenge
A crawl space in Clarksville Tennessee has standing water.
Two crawl space vents and the access door are below grade allowing for rain and groundwater to enter.
Condensation on the trunk lines from the heating and cooling unit is also causing high humidity under the home.
The family is concerned about mold, water, and wood rot the family is looking for a solution.
The inspection did show high humidity and high wood moisture content. Mold, mildew, and wood rot were confirmed.
Solution
Keep the crawl space dry.
Remove insulation from floor joists
Replace 8 ft of mudsill and rim joist in the bathroom.
Replace 8 ft of the rotted beam with 10ft of a triple 2x12 wood beam.
Replace 3 sheets of subflooring.
Sister 6 joists at 10 ft lengths 2x12s.
Remove the toilet, vanity, and the shower. Jackhammer & remove the small slab from under the shower as well.
Block and Cover all below grade crawl space vents
Install CleanSpace liner with drainage matting below
Replace current crawl space door with custom EverLast door.
