Crawl space pit
Some homes with a lower crawl space entrance have the door in a pit. This low to the ground is very susceptible to the soil environment. When it rains or snows the moisture ill call metal to rust and wood to rot. Heavy rains will cause a pooling or flooding in the crawl space.
