Below Grade Crawl Space Entrences
Crawl space wells are common but if not sealed properly they allow for ground water to enter the crawl space.
Below Grade Vents
A major source of the water in the crawl space was the below grade crawl space vents.
Mold on the floor joist
The wood, moisture, and temperature of the crawl space provide perfect conditions for mold growth.
High Moisture Content
The floor joist are absorbing the moisture in the air.
Trunk Line Condensation
The HVAC trunk lines or duct work are creating moisture. The condensation of the lines are dripping and pooling on the plastic liner below.
Subfloor wood rot
The moisture in the old insulation, humidity in the air, condensation from the lines had created a very toxic atmosphere causing the subfloor to rot out.
New Subfloor
Replacing the joist and subfloor was necessary for this project.
Bright and Healthy
A 20 mil plastic vapor barrier makes this crawl space much brighter and healthier.
Humidity Control
A SandiDry Sedona dehumidifier has enough power to control the humidity of this crawl space.
Columns Wrapped and Sealed
Not only the floor is covered the columns and wall is wrapped and sealed to keep unconditioned air out and conditioned air in.
Vents are Covered
Below grade vents are blocked and covered keeping rain and ground water out.
Secure Door
An EveryLast custom crawl space door is non organic material that will completely secure and seal the crawl space entrance.
