A family in Clarksville, Tennessee had called a couple different contractors to find out why the threshold of the front door was moving. They noticed a gap not long after moving in but it continued to get worse. It was like the the door was moving away from the home. Other symptoms included sticking doors and windows, uneven floors, and cracks in drywall. Previous contractors told the family the foundation is settling and pushing the door away from the house and making the door detach from the structure. The family was worried about the safety of the home. Our inspectors found a significant amount of moisture in the crawl space, these unhealthy conditions were causing mold, mildew, and wood rot. The wood support beams and floor joist were soft and week, no longer able to evenly support the weight of the home.

This home sits on a hill making this crawl space vent the highest. However, it is still below grade providing an easy entry for rain and ground water into the crawl space.
