Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Clarksville, TN
When this homeowner in Clarksville, TN, decided to have their crawl space evaluated, they contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair. Once inside the crawl space, we discovered multiple signs of water damage, such as mold, wood rot, and water stains on the concrete walls. Encapsulating the crawl space is the only way to protect this space from further water damage. We started by removing the old vapor barrier and rolling out drainage matting on the dirt floor. On top of the drainage matting, we applied a CleanSpace vapor barrier on the floor, along the walls, and around any jacks or pillars. To combat the high moisture levels in crawl space, we replaced the old dehumidifier with a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. We also installed a TripleSafe sump pump system to pump out standing water that may flood the crawl space. We also replaced the old, rusty crawl space door with our durable crawl space door.
Crawl Space Before Encapsulation
Water stains and fallen insulation can be seen in the crawl space before encapsulation.
Damp Wood
As moisture builds up in a crawl space, it begins to deteriorate the wood joists.
Moisture Droplets
Moisture gathers on the old vapor barrier, meaning the barrier is no longer doing its job.
Mold
Mold in a crawl space can trigger allergies and breathing problems.
After The Old Vapor Barrier Was Removed
Moisture can come up into the crawl space through the dirt floor.
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
A crawl space dehumidifier is needed to control high levels of humidity.
Finished Encapsulation
An encapsulated crawl space is more energy-efficient than an open, dirt crawl space.
New Crawl Space Door
A solid crawl space door is needed to properly seal the space.
