First, we removed the dirty vapor barrier that had begun to bunch up on the dirt floor of the crawl space. After removing the old vapor barrier from the walls and floor, we applied our SilverGlo wall insulation to maintain temperatures in the crawl space. Drainage matting was placed on the dirt floor to help with the flow of water out of the crawl space. Our CleanSpace vapor barrier was rolled out across the matting, forming a barrier that prevents moisture from penetrating the 20-mil-thick material. The vapor barrier was also wrapped around the water heater kept in the crawl space, helping to reduce the amount of energy that needs to be used by the heater.
