This homeowner in Gallatin, TN, contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair when they began experiencing the negative signs of an unhealthy crawl space, such as mold and musty odors. Once they got into the crawl space, our crew noticed mold and fallen insulation, which are definite signs that there are high levels of moisture in the space. We removed the older vapor barrier, debris, and fiberglass insulation. To help move water out of the crawl space that may find its way under the new vapor, we laid out drainage matting on the dirt floor. On top of the matting, we applied a CleanSpace vapor barrier. We also wrapped the walls, jacks, and concrete pillars with the 20-mil vapor barrier. To combat the high humidity levels, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed in the crawl space.
