Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Cottontown, TN
This homeowner in Cottontown, TN, contacted us at Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair to encapsulate their crawl space. The crawl space was hidden underneath the home's deck. The crawl space door was simply a screen, making the space open to the elements and pest infestations. Once inside the basement, our crew discovered mold growing on the wooden joists, indicating moisture in the crawl space. The existing vapor barrier was dirty and littered with debris, so it was removed. Over the dirt floor of the space, we rolled out innovative drainage matting, which utilizes dimples in the material to guide water out of the crawl space. Then, our crew began applying our CleanSpace vapor barrier to the walls, pillars, and floor. This vapor barrier is extremely durable and resistant to tearing. To reduce humidity and prevent mold from continuing to grow in the crawl space, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed. To complete the encapsulation, we replaced the screen door with our EverLast crawl space door. Constructed of foam and inorganic materials, this door will create a durable barrier with a tight seal.
