Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Clarksville, TN

This homeowner in Clarksville, TN, contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair to encapsulate their crawl space. Once we arrived on sight, we found water stains, mold, and fallen insulation. The air in the crawl space was dirty; and, because the space had open crawl space vents, this air was circulating right into the living areas of the home. Combine the dirty air with mold, and you have a musty crawl space that will emanate nasty odors throughout the home. To combat this, we fully encapsulated the crawl space. First, we removed the debris, old vapor barrier, and fallen insulation. Our crew then rolled drainage matting out over the dirt floor. Then, we added a CleanSpace vapor barrier on top. On the open air vents and for added insulation in vulnerable spots, SilverGlo panels were applied. To prevent mold growth, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. To remove standing water that may find its way into the space, we also installed a sump pump with drainage leading out and away from the home. Finally, we replaced the old crawl space door with an EverLast door, which is designed to withstand the elements and seal off the space better than wooden or metal doors.
