Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Springfield, TN
This crawl space in Springfield, TN, was suffering from the negative effects of not being encapsulated, such as fallen insulation and water stains throughout the space, so the homeowner contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair. Inside the cluttered space, our technicians discovered a damaged vapor barrier in addition to the fallen insulation. In certain spots of the crawl space, water stains and the damp dirt floor indicated that water had found its way into the home's crawl space. The first thing we did was remove all clutter, including the old vapor barrier and insulation. We then laid out drainage matting on the dirt floor, which is dimpled to help any water trapped under the barrier escape. On top of the drainage matting, we applied a 20-mil-thick CleanSpace vapor barrier. Along the walls and columns, we applied a thinner version of the CleanSpace barrier. For humidity control, our technicians installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. In one of the lower areas of the crawl space, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed to prevent the crawl space from flooding.
