Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Huntsville, AL
This homeowner in Huntsville, AL, contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair to have their home's crawl space evaluated. Once our technician crawled inside the space, they discovered a dark and humid environment. Mold, wood rot, and evidence of standing water could easily be seen. The crawl space vents were open, allowing outside air to be sucked in. The old, dark vapor barrier was bunched up in certain spots and coated in thick mud. We recommended a complete encapsulation of the crawl space. First, we would remove all debris, including the fiberglass insulation and old vapor barrier. Then, we would roll out drainage matting across the dirt floor to help with the flow of water out of the crawl space. The crawl space's open vents would be sealed off and insulated with SilverGlo insulation panels. Our CleanSpace vapor barrier would be applied on top of the drainage matting, along the walls, and around the crawl space's cemented jacks. Finally, we would install a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control humidity levels in the crawl space.
