Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Huntsville, AL
This homeowner from Huntsville, AL, reached out to Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair for an assessment of their crawl space. Our technician identified mold growth and standing water inside the crawl space during our inspection. The existing vapor barrier was old, damaged, and covered in dirt. Moreover, the fiberglass insulation in the crawl space had started to sag and fall due to moisture absorption. The wooden crawl space door was also deteriorating. Based on our evaluation, we recommended a comprehensive crawl space encapsulation. This involved clearing out all debris and laying down drainage matting across the dirt floor. On top of this matting, and extending up the walls and columns, we proposed installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier to provide effective moisture control. To maintain optimal moisture levels, we suggested installing our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Finally, we proposed our EverLast door, crafted from durable inorganic materials designed to withstand deterioration to replace the deteriorated crawl space door.

Open View of The Crawl Space
The only protection against moisture in this crawl space was a simple, but ineffective, vapor barrier.
Cluttered Space
This crawl space was cluttered with loose HVAC ducts, fallen insulation, and random objects.
Open Vent
Crawl space vents should be sealed off to prevent external air from mixing with the musty crawl space air and seeping up into the living areas of the home.
Mold Growth
Mold can be seen growing on the fiberglass insulation in the crawl space.
Caked Mud
In this section of the crawl space, mud and water stains can be seen.
Sagging Insulation
Fiberglass insulation soaks up moisture like a sponge, causing them to become heavy, sag, and then eventually fall to the crawl space's floor.
Puddle of Water
Standing water was found in a low spot of the crawl space.
