Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Huntsville, AL
This homeowner in Huntsville, AL, contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair to have their crawl space evaluated. Once on site, our inspector entered the crawl space. Inside, they discovered an unusually tall crawl space. The only protection against moisture was a simple vapor barrier that did not cover the entirety of the crawl space's floor. The crawl space had large vents that were open to the outside. Water stains riddled the space, and wood rot had weakened the wooden structures. Standing water was found in lower sections and dips in the space. After evaluating the space, we recommended a full encapsulation. We would remove the old vapor as well as all debris. Then, we would roll out drainage matting across the dirt floor. On top of the matting, we would apply our CleanSpace vapor barrier. This barrier will also be applied to the walls and the concrete columns. We would also install a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to reduce moisture levels. A sump pump system would also be beneficial in the space, as it would remove large quantities of water that may flood the crawl space.
