Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Portland, TN
This homeowner in Portland, TN, contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair to have their crawl space evaluated. Once inside the crawl space, our design specialist discovered signs that moisture intrusion was happening in the space. Insulation was sagging and had fallen from the floor joists in certain spots. On the exposed floor joists, mold was found growing. After the evaluation, our design specialist recommended a crawl space encapsulation. Once our crew arrived at the home, they began pulling the debris, fallen insulation, and old vapor barrier out of the crawl space. Our dimpled drainage matting was then rolled out over the dirt floor. Along the walls, around columns, and over the matting, the crew applied our CleanSpace vapor barrier. To keep moisture levels under 55 percent, preventing mold or rot from forming, we installed our SaniDry Sedona crawl space dehumidifier.
Entrance
The crawl space's entrance is below grade and blocked with debris.
Damaged Vapor Barrier
The home's old vapor barrier was torn, bunched up, and extremely dirty.
Water Stains
Pools of water were also discovered in spots of the crawl space.
Sagging and Fallen Insulation
Fiberglass insulation soaks up water like a sponge, which causes them to be weighed down. Eventually, the insulation will drop from the floor joists.
Mold
Mold thrives in a dark, damp crawl space.
Drainage Matting
Our dimpled matting helps with water drainage out of the crawl space.
CleanSpace
Our CleanSpace vapor barrier is strong enough to be tread on.
