Improper Crawl Space Door
Crawl space doors made of metal or other organic materials are prone to rust and rotting. They also do not have airtight seals, allowing moisture into the air below your home and access to critters and pests to settle in the crawl space comfortably.
Muddy Crawl Space
The area around the previously installed TripleSafe Sump Pump highlights the moisture issues this home is facing. Without a proper vapor barrier system, elevated humidity levels are creating an undesirable environment.
Improper Floor Covering
This improper crawl space floor covering may seem like a good option when installed, but as is noticeable in this image it does not help keep the crawl space dry and clean. This style of plastic covering allows for water to pool on the surface which quickly adds to the moisture in the air.
CleanSpace Installed
The transformation of this crawl space after the Frontier experts installed CleanSpace speaks for itself! This 20-mil poly-reinforced liner was installed over drainage matting. This allows any moisture under the liner to flow to the perimeter drainage, and the liner isolates the crawl space from the earth and will prevent any mold or mildew from growing.
SaniDry Sedona Installed
The SaniDry Sedona is a crucial step of a full encapsulation. This small but mighty dehumidifier is energy efficient and highly effective. It has the ability to remove 100 pints of moisture from the air per day!
Drainage Installed
To prevent water from accumulating in the crawl space, we extended the drainage system further away from the house. Draining too close to the foundation can lead to water pooling, which increases the risk of it seeping back into the crawl space.
New EverLast Door
The last solution to keeping this crawl space nice and dry was to install the EverLast Crawl Space Door. This airtight door is comprised on inorganic materials, preventing you from ever having to worry about rust or wood rot. It also stays beautiful without ever needing a fresh coat of paint!
