Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Wartrace, TN
This homeowner in Wartrace, TN, contacted Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair to have their home's crawl space evaluated. After checking out the space, our system design specialist recommended an encapsulation. When our crew arrived on site, they started by removing the old vapor barrier as well as any debris. Once the dirt floor was completely exposed, our crew rolled drainage matting out across it. On top of the matting, we applied our CleanSpace vapor barrier. A thinner version of the CleanSpace, known as Wallie, was applied to the walls and around the columns of the crawl space. To prevent air from blowing in from the outside and mixing with the musty air of the crawl space, we applied our SilverGlo insulation panels to all open vents. We also installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to combat high moisture levels.
Entrance
The door protecting the entrance of the crawl space is made of simple wood, making it susceptible to rot.
Before
The crawl space was a dirty, cluttered disaster before the encapsulation.
Water on Vapor Barrier
Upon inspection, our system design specialist discovered water sitting on top of the vapor barrier.
Efflorescence
This chalky white substance is caused by minerals seeping through damp concrete.
Mold
Mold was found growing on the damp wooden surfaces of this crawl space.
Applying CleanSpace
We roll our CleanSpace out over our drainage matting.
