This customer in Nashville, TN called Frontier to help with moisture issues and water intrusion in their crawl space. To fix the problem, we did a crawl space encapsulation. This project included removing all the debris and standing water, installing EZ Flow drainage tubing, Drainage matting, CleanSpace Liner, a TripleSafe Sump Pump, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, IceGuard and LawnScape system. We also sealed the crawl space vents with SilverGlo panels and spray foam insulation. Crawl space sealing and insulation will help you avoid unnecessary repairs, create a healthier living space, and save money on your utility bills. Before Project Begins

During the inspection, noticeable waterlines are visible on the concrete block wall. This means that water is seeping out of the porous block wall. Moisture, mold and falling, failing insulation are problems in this crawl space, which hasn't been properly sealed.

Moisture Readings

These readings indicate a very high humidity level. This is a prime condition for mold to grow.

Mold Growth

Due to the moisture issues in the crawl space, mold is starting to grow on the insulation and wood floor joists. Untreated it will continue to grow and start to rot the wood causing the above floor to start to sink.

EZ Flow

A trench is dug around the perimeter and EZ Flow tubing is installed. It is surrounded with clean gravel before it is covered with drainage matting. This tubing will absorb water and funnel it to the sump pump which will then be pumped out through the drainage lines.

This dimpled plastic sheet material promotes good drainage over the entire crawl space floor.

TripleSafe Sump Pump

The TripleSafe is installed and assembled after this it will be connected to drainage lines and the IceGuard and LawnScape system.

CleanSpace® vapor barrier

One of the key ingredients in our encapsulation system is the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, a super-durable, 20mil plastic sheet material designed to permanently prevent moisture, outside air and pests from getting into your crawl space.

A TripleSafe® Sump Pump System (shown here), combined with a SaniDry® dehumidifier, represents the ultimate in crawl space waterproofing and humidity control.

IceGuard®

Water escapes from the IceGuard® fitting only when the discharge line becomes clogged. Otherwise, water flows past the slotted openings into the drain pipe.

LawnScape™

LawnScape™ is a pipe buried from the downspout to a special LawnScape™ outlet that lets the water out onto the surface while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning. LawnScape™ is best used for downspout extensions over 8' long.
