Crawl Space Before Project Begins
Crawl space before the project begins. Obvious signs of moisture damage are visible with dried out water on the vapor barrier, water lines visible on the crawl space concrete block walls, and falling insulation are all indications that moisture has damaged this crawl space.
Open Vents
Unsealed vents allow outside air to enter the crawl space causing moisture to build up and cause damage to the crawl space. These will need to be sealed to cut off the outside air.
Moisture Readings
During the inspection we will take moisture readings inside the crawl space, in the wooden floor joists, outside the structure, and finally on the first floor of the home. This calculation of all areas will give us a better idea of what's going on so we can recommend the correct products to control the moisture levels and bring them down in the crawl space.
Repair The Structure
If your crawl space is sagging or damaged by prolonged mold and rot, the next step is to install crawl space support jacks to help restore your structure. This will help your floors stay even and stop any structural sagging upstairs.
Drainage Matting
Drainage matting is installed over the floors. This dimpled plastic sheet material promotes good drainage over the entire crawl space floor.
CleanSpace® Wall System
Like our other wall systems, it can hold back water vapor passing through your foundation walls, directing it to your sump pump. With anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in, no mold or mildew will grow on the CleanSpace!
CleanSpace® System
One of the key ingredients in our encapsulation system is the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, a super-durable, 20mil plastic sheet material designed to permanently prevent moisture, outside air and pests from getting into your crawl space. Your crawl space technician will install CleanSpace® poly over the foundation walls and floor to create a continuous air and moisture barrier.
Vents Sealed
Vents are sealed with SilverGlo panels and spray foam insulation to cut off the outside air.
Sealing Crawl Space
Sealing your crawl space vents stops the cycle of cold, humidity, and moisture entering from the outside air.
New Framing
New wood framing is built out to prepare for the new crawl space door installation. This is to ensure it is secure and airtight.
