This customer in Nashville, TN called Frontier due to moisture issues in their crawl space. To start the project we cleaned all the debris out of the crawl space. To seal off and waterproof the crawl space installed EZ Flow into the ground, drainage matting, a CleanSpace vapor barrier, a TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. To finish the project we installed an IceGuard and LawnScape system.

Crawl Space Before Project Begins

This crawl space has a lot of debris that needs to be removed before this project can start. Once removed we will start installing the waterproofing products.

Moisture Damage

Moisture issues are visible in this photo, the vapor barrier has dried and muddy spots where standing water has been and dried up.

Mold and Mildew

Mold growth can be seen beginning to grow on the wood floor joists. If this is no addressed the mold will rot the wood and cause structural damage.

EZ Flow

The EZ Flow is installed into a dug trench around the perimeter of the crawl space and parts are covered with clean gravel. This will absorb the water and funnel it into the sump pump. The sump pump will pump it out of the crawl space through the drainage lines.

Drainage Matting

This dimpled plastic sheet material promotes good drainage over the entire crawl space floor.

Installing the TripleSafe Sump Pump

Our most reliable sump pump system, the TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System, provides three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over.

The SaniDry Sedona

The Sedona easily fits in small crawl spaces, yet has a powerful blower to effectively dry large crawl spaces. Mold and mildew are common in crawl spaces, but the Sedona keeps the relative humidity below 55%, so mold won't stand a chance. As a high-efficiency dehumidifier, the Sedona removes more moisture (100 pints per day) for less electricity cost than conventional models.

IceGuard and Lawnscape

Water escapes from the IceGuard® fitting only when the discharge line becomes clogged. Otherwise, water flows past the slotted openings into the drain pipe. LawnScape™ is a pipe buried from the downspout to a special LawnScape™ outlet that lets the water out onto the surface while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning. LawnScape™ is best used for downspout extensions over 8' long.
