Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Repair in Nashville, TN

This customer in Nashville, TN called Frontier for a crawl space encapsulation to address the moisture issues in their crawl space. This included installing EZ Flow, adding drainage matting to the floors, covering the entire crawl space with our CleanSpace liner, and adding a TripleSafe sump pump, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, and IceGuard drainage lines. We finished the project by connecting a Lawnscape system that will carry all the water captured out to the yard away from the structure to protect the foundation.

Water Damage

In this photo you can see water is seeping out of the bottom of the concrete wall. Left unchecked, this will cause structural damage that will be costly to fix.

Old Vapor Barrier

This old vapor barrier is not doing it's job. Water is seeping from the walls, and muddy areas show where water has accumulated and dried.

Before Project Begins

All of this debris will be removed before the waterproofing products are installed.

EZ Flow

To install the EZ Flow a trench along the inside perimeter of the foundation wall is excavated and slopes evenly towards the excavated area where the sump pump. EZ Flow Crawl Space Drainage System is installed to prevent flooding in this dirt crawl space. EZ Flow features a filter fabric with holes on the top and front to accept water from the soil and surface of your crawl space. The pipe also collects water seepage from the crawl space walls and the footing/wall joint.

Drainage Matting

This dimpled plastic sheet material promotes good drainage over the entire crawl space floor.

CleanSpace®

One of the key ingredients in our encapsulation system is the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, a super-durable, 20mil plastic sheet material designed to permanently prevent moisture, outside air and pests from getting into your crawl space. Your crawl space technician will install CleanSpace® poly over the foundation walls and floor to create a continuous air and moisture barrier.

TripleSafe Sump Pump

A TripleSafe® Sump Pump System (shown here), combined with a SaniDry® dehumidifier, represents the ultimate in crawl space waterproofing and humidity control.

SaniDry Sedona

The Sedona easily fits in small crawl spaces, yet has a powerful blower to effectively dry large crawl spaces. Mold and mildew are common in crawl spaces, but the Sedona keeps the relative humidity below 55%, so mold won't stand a chance. As a high-efficiency dehumidifier, the Sedona removes more moisture (100 pints per day) for less electricity cost than conventional models.

IceGuard and Lawnscape

Water escapes from the IceGuard® fitting only when the discharge line becomes clogged. Otherwise, water flows past the slotted openings into the drain pipe. LawnScape™ is a pipe buried from the downspout to a special LawnScape™ outlet that lets the water out onto the surface while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning. LawnScape™ is best used for downspout extensions over 8' long.
