This family recently started to experience sticking doors and cracks in the drywall. Our Foundation Specialist was able to identify the areas of concern and drew up the plan to re stabilize both the floors and foundation to ensure that the situation didn't worsen.
Solution
To permanently stabilize the foundations and floors of a home, Frontier Basement Systems is part of a nationwide dealer network, meaning that we have access to products that are not available to the general public.
Once the dirt and debris is removed from the crawl space then the 2'x2' holes are hand dug at the predetermined locations.
This installation is done prior to the final layer of CleanSpace liner.
Crushed gravel is packed into these holes so that the 1'x1' base plate can be set on top, creating the bulb of influence. At a depth of twice the bearing width the bearing surface is reduced to 10% of what it previously was.
Metal strapping is used to hold the 180lbs steel I-beam in place while the 2 man crew can adjust its final position, supporting the floors above.
The pre-cut steel piping is inserted between the base plate and the SmartJack top section, with a couple of inches of room for adjustment this is what lifts and holds any sagging into place.
