Challenge

The challenge with this home was there were several issues present, there was foundation settlement which was creating stair like cracks on the inside and outside of the home as well as bowing of the walls.  The homeowners were extremely concerned and decided to give Frontier Basement Systems a call.

Solution

After our design specialist went out to the home and did a thorough inspection they sat down with the homeowners and together it was decided that a series of Push Piers as well as Geo-lock Wall Anchors were the right solutions for this home.

The Push Pier Systems utilize high-strength round steel tube sections and a load transfer bracket to stabilize and/or lift sinking or settling foundations. The foundation bracket was secured against the existing footing of the home and pier sections are driven hydraulically through the foundation bracket and into the soil below the home using the combined structural weight and any contributory soil load as resistance. This was a great solution for this home.

For the bowing walls Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were utilized and these are designed to correct and support bowing, buckling, or any walls showing signs of inward movement.  This system utilizes steel rods attached to soil anchors extended through the foundation wall and wall plates.  Wall plates use this pressure to provide support.
