Horizontal Cracking
This is one of the first symptoms of a bowing wall. Horizontal cracks usually start small and grow as the soil form the outside applies more pressure.
Cracks along the base
Cracks running just above the floor. The concrete floor is holding the bottom row of blocks in place while the rest of the wall pushes in.
Bowing walls
Hydrostatic pressure is caused by fluid and gravity pushing against the wall. The water saturated soil is pushing against the wall.
Wall Changes
Stair steps, horizontal cracks, bowing walls....any movement of the foundation wall are signs of a problem.
