Bowing Walls
The hydrostatic pressure behind this wall is more than it can take. Horizontal cracks are the first stage of foundation failure.
Stair Step Cracks
The blocks are pulling away from one another, giving to pressure. Stair step cracks are stage 2 of foundation failure.
Temporary Braces
These temporary braces may have bought some time before a full foundation failure but a soft organic material like wood is not able to fix this problem.
Brace the top
A board across the top hides signs of stage 4 foundation failure of the wall sliding in at the top or bottom. This home has tried every band-aid possible to avoid full foundation failure.
Pulling away at the Bottom
The pressure has pushed the wall past the footing. With all 4 signs of foundation failure, collapse is the only option left without serious repair.
Internal Shoring
Internal shoring was necessary for safety and to install proper steel PowerBraces.
Brackets secure the Braces
The foundation wall was not longer secure to the footing, brackets were used for floor joists to run parallel to the wall and secure the PowerBraces.
Exterior Dig Out
The earth along the foundation was dug out to protect the home, family, and crew while the work was going on. Shored and protected Geo-Lock Wall Anchors are installed.
Bridge Bracket
This bracket secures the PowerBrace to joist that run perpendicular to the wall.
PowerBraces Up
These PowerBraces are strategically placed to distribute the weight and secure the foundation wall.
