Basement Wall Cracks
The client's basement exhibited several concerning cracks in the brick, known as stair-step cracking. This type of cracking is a serious indicator that the wall has started to rotate, signaling potential structural issues.
Indoor Digging
The client's home boasted beautiful flower beds, and they were understandably concerned about any disruption during the installation. To address this, our team devised a plan to carry out the installation from the basement interior. The process starts with removing the existing concrete floors to create space for the push piers.
Piers Installed
Once the soil is excavated, a specially designed bracket is positioned under the footing. Then, using specialized hydraulic equipment, steel pier sections are driven through the bracket into stable soil below. This process effectively transfers the home's weight to deep bedrock, ensuring a solid foundation.
Concrete Refilled
Once the piers are securely in place, the holes left by the removed concrete are backfilled with the original material.
Floors Restored
Finally, the work is made permanent and low-profile by filling the voids with new concrete. While the new slabs may not perfectly match in color, this solution is ideal for this gardening family, ensuring both stability and minimal disruption to their cherished flower beds.
