CleanSpace Encapsulation in Clarksville TN

These homeowners in Clarksville Tennessee wanted to utilize their crawl space for extra storage but were unable to due to moisture.  Wanted to get this problem resolved they contacted Frontier Basement Systems for a free inspection.  A design specialist was sent to their home and together it was decided that a full encapsulation of their crawl space with CleanSpace was the right solution for this crawl space.

CleanSpace is a 20-mil thick vapor barrier designed to keep water and moisture out of a crawl space.  The results are stunning, and the homeowners can now utilize this space for extra storage without any issues or damaged items.

Crawlspace Peace of Mind in Nashville, TN

This Nashville family has just recently bought their home and had already noticed a moisture problem in their crawlspace. By installing our CleanSpace line and TripleSafe Complete Pump System they now have the confidence that issues such as wood rot, mold and pests won't be a problem for them.

Faux vs True Encapsulation

This home was "encapsulated" 5 years ago by another company.

However it was not a true encapsulation, it only had a thin plastic liner rolled out along the dirt floor and partially up the block.

Because this plastic did not control the humidity of this space, and during some seasons make the humidity worse, the family had noticed their floors above were warping.

This faux encapsulation had caused additional problems for the home.

A true encapsulation will completely seal the home from outside air.

Our vapor barrier, CleanSpace, is a 20 mil plastic that covers the earth and runs up the block. Vents are closed and insulated, all joist and any other areas air can flow are sealed with foam.

A non-organic custom insulated crawl space door closes the space off finishing off the encapsulation.

The home's floors are now protected from the heat and moisture that are necessary for warping.

Crawl Space Encapsulated in Clarksville, TN

These Tennessee homeowners were aware of how important it was to encapsulate their crawl space.. especially if the space has a dirt floor! Dirt floors are such a big problem, because they contain a lot of moisture from the ground. Which will eventually evaporate, rise, and create condensation when the warm, humid air reaches a cooler surface. And moisture and wetness in a crawl space is a BIG no-no! It causes wood beams to mold, which leads to mold spores floating around in the air..and 50% of the air that is downstairs finds its way upstairs to your living quarters.

If you're having especially awful allergies, you might want to look into how healthy the air you're breathing in is!

Our crew set them up with our vapor barrier CleanSpace Liner and CleanSpace Drainage Matting.
The CleanSpace Liner is puncture and tear resistant, and an anti-microbial agent is blended into the liner to kill mold and bacteria. The Drainage Matting creates the perfect channel for water to make its way to the designated pump.

We have a happy Tennessee family now that their crawl space is encapsulated.

Unhealthy to Healthy Crawl Space in Clarksville, TN

This Clarksville family had a very unhealthy crawl space and they started to worry about how it was affecting their health. They decided to take advantage of our free estimates and see what an expert had to say about it.
Our inspector came and checked out their space, he took a few photos for reference and tested the moisture in the air and wood. Both indicated moisture levels above average and the wood content moisture was nearing the point in which most would see obvious rotting signs. While there were only mold spores growing, which is a safety hazard in itself, before long the home could experience serious and expensive foundation problems.

The inspector talked to the family about our encapsulation process and its benefits, like reducing moisture and humidity in the space, as well as keeping cold winter drafts out and even lowering energy costs. The family was ready to have a healthy crawl space and healthier breathing air and did not want to worry about future expensive fixes. They wanted a lasting one right now before it got any worse.

Our crew installed these products to encapsulate the crawlspace:
CleanSpace Vapor Barrier- 20mil thick liner with 7 layers of polyethylene composition and polyester-cord reinforcement
Drainage Barrier- raised dimples to help trapped water find its way to the designated drain
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier- keeps relative humidity below 55%
EverLast Door- has a moisture and airtight seal and is also maintenance free!

This Clarksville family is very happy with their decision to encapsulate their crawl space. They are now breathing in healthier air and reaping all of the other benefits!
